Daniel Khalastchi is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He is the author of Manoleria (Tupelo Press) and Tradition (McSweeney’s), and his work has appeared in a variety of publications, including The Believer Logger, Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly, Fence, The Iowa Review, Poetry Northwest, The Rumpus, and Best American Experimental Writing. A former fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, he currently serves as Director of he University of Iowa’s Magid Center for Undergraduate Writing. He lives in Iowa City and is the co-founder and managing editor of Rescue Press. His recent awards include a residency at the prestigious Hermitage Artist Retreat, and his third book—American Parables, winner of the Brittingham Prize in Poetry—will be published by the University of Wisconsin Press in Fall 2021.
